The boat

SV Chibidarra is a Dufour 12000ct built in 1978. She is 13,7m (45 feet) long with a beam of 3,98m (13 feet). She has been around the globe at least one time with previous owners. She had some work done in 2006 with a new engine and new standing rigging and some bits and pieces that we don’t know all of. Some time after this the owner got ill and the boat was more or less left in the Caribbean when the owner was home in Europe for health reasons. In 2015 the boat was bought by a Danish couple that had some work done removing the leaking teak deck and replacing the core. They also bought some new equipment to be able to sail the boat home to Denmark. Back home in Denmark they were happy and did not wanted to do the work of restoring this old lady to her former glory so they sold it instead.

We found the boat on an online auction in Denmark  in the winter of 2016 and after 2 trips to check her out and some bidding on the internet she was ours. We sailed her home during Easter in the end of March with fairly strong winds and pretty cold temperatures.
